Rocky Pine Fainters & Such is a family farm owned by Nathan & Crystal Mann. We are located about an hour south of Atlanta in Thomaston, Georgia. My husband and I began our hobby farm in 2010 with just a heifer and a bull calf. In August 2012, our first calf was born and needless to say, we were hooked! We added to our farm little by little, growing into our true selves while raising many different breeds along the way. In 2015 and 2017, we welcomed two little girls of our own to the family, passing our love and respect for God's creation on to them.
Earlier this year, we fostered twenty three myotonic goats and two miniature donkeys. Never owning goats before, we did lots of research to accommodate our new friends. There were two does expected to labor at any time, and if you add the unpredictable Georgia weather to the mix, well, we prepared as much as possible. On February 25,2020, we had our first set of silky myotonic triplets born. We instantly fell in love! The tiniest, loudest one of the bunch was my precious Gertie. She had two larger brothers who didn't quite share the best so after a few days of hearing her cry for lack of milk, I brought her inside. As my research deepened for Silky Fainting Goats, so did my love for my bottle baby, Gertie.
My husband began looking into Miniature Silky Fainting Goat breeders in Georgia and surrounding states. We spoke with a few wonderful breeders before deciding on a super helpful and down to earth breeder in Tennessee. Long story short, we made the 14 hour trip, bringing back registered mini silky goats; two bucks and seven does. Rocky Pine Fainters was established in May of 2020 and the rest is history...
